As we begin this exciting new academic year, I am delighted to welcome our teachers, students and families. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, I look forward to walking our halls, hearing your stories, and working together to make CKY an even better place for teaching and learning.

CKY is a bilingual school committed to excellence in both Chinese and English. We believe that every child is good at something. Our mission is to help each student discover and grow their unique talents. Through a balanced curriculum, rich extracurricular opportunities, and a strong focus on character development, we nurture not just academic ability, but also kindness, resilience, and confidence.

This year marks our 25th Anniversary, and our theme is “Honour our Past, Inspire the Future.” It is a year to celebrate how far we have come and to boldly envision the journey ahead. Twenty-five years ago, we identified a critical gap between academic knowledge and real-world application. Since then, we have built our foundation on Moral Education and Applied Linguistics, helping students move from knowing facts to confidently applying them in meaningful ways. Today, our students are articulate, thoughtful, and well-prepared.

The world continues to evolve, especially in this AI era. In a world where information is instantly accessible, the role of education has never been more human. Our teachers are no longer just sources of knowledge. They are guides, mentors, and co-learners. That is why Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) will be a core pillar of our curriculum this year, standing equal with academic literacy. We want every child to not only excel in exams, but to develop empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence. Qualities that will serve them throughout their lives.

We believe that every student has a gift to share, and our role is to help them shine. This year, as we honour our past achievements, we invite you to also inspire the future. Through your partnership, your engagement, and your shared commitment to your child’s holistic growth.

世界仍在不斷演變，尤其是在這個AI的時代。在資訊唾手可得的今天，老師不再只是知識的傳授者，更是引導者與同行的導師。正因如此， 社會情商學習（SEL） 今年成為我們課程的核心支柱之一，與學術能力並重。我們將致力於培養孩子的同理心、抗壓性與情緒智商，因為這些才是能陪伴他們終身的重要品質。
