Y11 Nepal group - Kathmandu, Nepal

Our 9-day CAS Challenge week trip to Kathmandu was a profound journey that pushed our physical and mental boundaries. Over the course of trekking the Langtang Valley, we covered a grueling 95 kilometers and reached an elevation of around 4,000 meters, ultimately reaching our summit of Kyangjin Ri at 4,400 meters.

This experience demanded immense commitment and perseverance. Facing severe physical and mental exhaustion, alongside the constant threat of high altitude sickness, every step forward required sheer determination. There were many moments where giving up felt appealing, but we managed to push through and complete our journey despite all the setbacks.

Besides the physical trial, we also visited a local highschool and an orphanage to connect with local students and learn more about Nepalese culture. We initiated different activities with local kids such as teaching them origami or playing frisbee and volleyball with them, we also provided meaningful donations, reminding us of the broader impact of our CAS initiative.

None of this would have been possible without our incredible Sherpas and guides. Their warmth, expertise, and positivity kept us safe and motivated. Their ability to effortlessly tackle the terrain while carrying our luggage and burdens filled us with immense gratitude and appreciation. This journey not only tested our endurance but also broadened our perspective on the world, leaving us with an unforgettable experience and lifelong memories.
